As of January 2022, online applications must be submitted before March 15th, June 15th, September 15th, or December 15th to qualify for end-of-quarter distributions.

To be considered for funding, your organization must meet the following requirements:

1. Local Impact

The primary beneficiaries of the proposed program must be citizens who live in the communities of Manteca, Lathrop, French Camp, and/or Ripon, California.

2. Non-Discrimination

The individuals and companies represented in the Harris Charities group do not discriminate against any person, population group, or organization based on gender, race, color, national origin, ancestry, citizenship, religion, age, physical or mental disability, medical condition, sexual orientation, gender identity or gender expression, veteran status, or marital status.

Our goal is to support programs that serve the entire community. Thus, we do not provide donations or financial support for membership-based activities; for religious, political, or sectarian programs; or for programs that promote or serve one culture, race, religion, population group, or political viewpoint (rather than the community at large).*

* Exception: A non-discriminatory direct-service program run by a faith-based organization may be eligible for support, provided that the program’s beneficiaries are not encouraged or required to learn about, adhere to, or convert to that organization’s religious doctrine as a condition of receiving service from the program.

Organizations that are found to discriminate in their provision of services and/or their hiring practices based on any of these or other relevant criteria may be deemed ineligible for funding consideration and/or required to return any grant awards, and may be rendered ineligible for future support.

3. Non-Profit Status

To receive a charitable gift, you must be able to prove your nonprofit status. Nonprofit organizations must meet one of following criteria:

  • An organization holding a current tax-exempt status under Section 501(c)(3) or Section 501(c)(19) of the Internal Revenue Code, listed on the IRS Master File and conducting activities within the United States;
  • A recognized government entity: state, county or city agency, including law enforcement or fire departments, that are requesting funds exclusively for public purposes;
  • A K-12 public or nonprofit private school, charter school, community/junior college, state/private college or university;
  • A tax-exempt church or other faith-based organization that is proposing a project to benefit all of the citizens who live in Manteca, Lathrop, French Camp, and/or Ripon, California.
